If Clause Type 1
Situation: Expectation for the future (open situation)
Pengandaian ini dipakai saat kita membuat perencanaan dan kemungkinan di masa depan.
Formula: If + S + present tense, S+ will + V1

Example: If the weather is good tomorrow, I will go swimming.
                  If she comes, I will ask her to go on a date.
                  If you come late, the teacher will be mad at you.
                  If I can not make it, I will notify you.
                  If you give up, you will not be satisfied of yourself.

If Clause Type 2 
Situation: Contrary to the present
Pengandaian ini dipakai utk situasi yg berlawanan dg situasi sekarang. Yg ga mungkin terjadi.
Formula: If + S+ past tense , S+ would + V1

Example:
Situation: I am not the president.
If I were the president, I would save the world.
If your dog could speak, she would tell your her feelings.
If I could speak to my dog, I would tell her I love her.
If my boss were a lady, she would understand my PMS problem.


Situation: The operator does not know to reach Mr. Smith.
If she knew where to reach Mr. Smith, She would call him.


If Clause Type 3

Situation: Contrary to the past. It is suitable to describe regrets...
wishing to change the past (imagine you can enter the time machine and change the past)

Cocok utk menggambarkan penyesalan, andai bisa mengubah masa lalu apa yg mau dilakukan... bayangkan time machine
Formula: IF + S+ past perfect, S+would+have+V3

Situation: I did not come
If I had come, I would have met him.

Situation: When he married to her,  he did not know that she was actually a man.
If he had know about it, he would not have married her.
